ADVENTURE WITH KIDS: WA – Margaret River

What an amazing region Margaret River is! The whole family has had an amazing time here. Started off on our way from Perth with a visit to Penguin Island where we were walking amongst hundreds of baby seagulls whose parents were nesting there. Saw the penguins at the Discovery Centre and enjoyed a walk around.

Then we went to Xscape at the Cape – a fantastic adventure park that was ideal for adults and kids! There are plenty of activities there to do – and on the day we went, not a lot of people to share them with! It was fantastic!! Not to mention the award winning ice cream!!!

From there it was down to Cape Grace Wines in Margaret River and the owner Karen was amazing! She was so friendly, gave us some nice tastings of their amazing wines (which can only be purchased at the cellar door or online), and took us for a drive around the vineyard for a bit of fun. The kids loved it – and there’s definitely no reason why you can’t take kids here! Not only that, they even have a little kids corner with toys, so they are kept entertained while you enjoy your tasting. The vineyard is beautiful, the pet dogs are gorgeous, and the owners friendly – not to mention the wine is organic and DELICIOUS – what more could you ask for??

Down to Margaret River and we spent 2 nights here, enjoying the local food, seeing the local sights and just having a great time. Saw the sun set over the ocean last night, which was amazing. Stay tuned for our story in next edition of OE for full details.

Today we’re headed to Fergusson Valley for the last 2 days of our trip. Can’t wait to check out the local National Parks, head to the local Adventure Race tomorrow in Collie, and enjoy the wildlife up close! Stay tuned for details.
